SARS PAYE/UIF/SDL Registration
What is PAYE?
Employees’ Tax refers to the tax required to be deducted by an employer from an employee’s remuneration paid or payable. The process of deducting or withholding tax from remuneration as it is earned by an employee is commonly referred to as PAYE.
What is UIF?
UIF stands for “Unemployment Insurance Fund”. This fund guarantees your Employees an income for a few months in case they lose their job.
To register for UIF we start by registering your Company UIF at SARS – which will also give you PAYE / SDL Numbers as part of the process. If your Company employs staff, it is compulsory to register for UIF at the Department of Labour as well after the SARS Registration process has been completed.
An employer who is registered or required to register with SARS for PAYE is also required to register with SARS for the payment of UIF and SDL contributions to SARS. It is the responsibility of the business to submit monthly declarations to declare the employees’ details, salaries, etc. for that specific month before the 7th of the following month
The Accounting Village can assist with this process.
